Mercenary Zalael Blackstar's plan was simple—capture the Queen of Music, and deliver her to the Unseelie fae king. But there's a secret to this woman that he didn't take into account.

The dream was to shine on stage like Sarah Brightman. The reality was that I was singing in a dump, a far cry from an internationally acclaimed talent. But I'd accepted my mediocrity, with a little help from alcohol, and a few questionable shagging habits. So imagine my irritation when a fae mercenary turns out at the pub, lethal and beautiful as sin, claiming that I'm the Queen of Music, and that I belong with the Unseelie king.

Zalael Blackstar is a hybrid between Starlight and Unseelie, an abomination to both kinds, but one they fear too much to challenge. They prefer to pay him to do their dirty work instead. I try hard to hate him for what he did to me, but the more I struggle, the stronger the pull. It might be just wishful thinking, but he seems unwilling to let me go, too, despite the tension between us. Soon, the hatred between him and the king reaches nuclear proportions because of our inability to let go of each other. Disaster looms on the horizon, and there's no way to stop it, unless Zalael and I make an impossible choice.
